Hi! I’m Lauren Amanda.

I’m a wife and traveling homeschool mom.

I love writing, singing, reading, traveling, eating, and teaching.

How did I get where I am now?

In high school, I planned to become a teacher, but in the end, I went the business route.  I have two business degrees and worked as a manager in corporate America.  I started feeling burn out with my job because I was pouring so much energy into my amazing team at work, that I felt like I didn’t have the energy to play with my son after work.

One of the final straws came when I apologized to my son for not playing with him very much that day and he said, with tears in his eyes, “you didn’t play with me at all.”

I bawled.  Talk about mom guilt.

I decided something had to change.

I put in my notice at work with no plan.  I’d been there for 15 years.

I ended up being offered a different position within the same company.  Now, my main responsibility was writing company policies and procedures.

This is when I discovered my love for writing!  (I had always been one of those weirdos that enjoyed writing research papers in high school and college.)

Now that my love for writing was ignited I decided to focus on doing something I’d always wanted to do– start a blog.

A week later, my husband and I got COVID and had to take a few weeks to recover and quarantine.  It was during this much-needed break, that we started discussing school options for Chase.  I was terrified of sending him to a huge public school.  I really felt like Chase could learn better at home and wanted to instill our family values into him full-time.  Plus, we hate Ohio winters and wanted to be free to travel as we’ve always done.  We didn’t want to be tied to our local school district.

My epiphany came when I realized that by homeschooling Chase we could travel back and forth between Ohio and Florida or wherever we wanted to go for that matter! After doing a ton of research (that’s the writer in me!) about homeschooling options and statistics, it became clear that this is what we needed to do for our family’s happiness.

I’ve always had a passion for teaching but never found the perfect opportunity until now!

Lightbulb moment! I should blog about homeschooling! And the rest is history.

Writing full-time and homeschooling is what finally gave us the freedom we needed, enabling us to pursue our passions and earn an income, while still being together as a family.  Now I hope to inspire others to create the life they love!
